If you do not give the dog a bath, it is easy to cause the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms and parasites, making your dog sick. Therefore, you must give the dog a bath to keep the skin clean and healthy, which is conducive to the health of the dog.

Bath time

It is an instinct of self-cleaning for dogs to lick their fur with their tongue, but this is far from enough for the cleaning of dogs. It is necessary to give them a bath. Generally, domestic dogs are washed once a month. In the south where the temperature is high and humid, it can be washed once a week or two.

How to take a bath

Because of the weak resistance, puppies are prone to respiratory tract infection, cold and pneumonia. Therefore, it is not suitable for puppies under half a year old to take a water bath. It is better to spray hair conditioner and baby talcum powder diluted more than 1000 times every day or every other day, and brush frequently to replace water washing.

The puppies are afraid of bathing, especially the shappies. Therefore, to do a good job in training puppies to take a bath for the first time, fill the washbasin with warm water, put the puppies in the basin and expose their head and neck. This will make the dogs feel comfortable and will not be unwilling to take a bath in the future.

The right way to enter the bath is as follows: the dog's head to your left side, left hand block the dog's head below the chest, and fix the dog's body. Put the right hand in the bathtub, gently wet the buttocks, back, abdomen, back, hind limbs, shoulders and forelimbs with warm water, and apply Shampoo (preferably pet shampoo). After gently rubbing, comb with a comb. Before washing, press both sides of the anus with fingers to squeeze out the secretion of the anal glands. Cover the two ears from the lower palate with the left or right hand, and wash gently from the top of the head with water to prevent water from flowing into the ears. Then wash all parts of the body with water from front to back, and immediately cover the head with a towel and wipe the water dry. Long hair dogs can be dried with a hair dryer. While blowing, they should comb their hair continuously. As long as the dog is not dry, it should be combed until the hair is dry.
